Benefits of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Proven effectiveness

This is a scientifically proven method, the "gold standard" in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders.

Short term

Unlike other methods, CBT is short-term, aimed at improving the client's condition in the shortest possible time. Typically, clients with depression or anxiety need 5 to 20 sessions to see significant improvement.

Structured

Each session has a clear plan developed by the psychologist and the client together at the beginning of each session. The session goes according to the agenda. At the end, a summary is made, homework is discussed, and the psychologist asks for feedback.

Orientation to the "here and now"

Initially, problems lying in the "here and now" field are identified and the therapy process focuses on the client's current difficulties. Attention to the past can only occur after analyzing the present problems and life aspects of the client.

Active participation

Therapy is mutual collaboration. The therapist and the client jointly build a therapy plan, regularity of meetings and homework schedule. For the effectiveness of therapy, active participation and interest of the client in the process of psychotherapy is necessary.

Educational Therapy

There is a psychoeducational stage in CBT - the client is introduced to the cognitive model, the therapist explains how CBT works and explains the cause-and-effect relationships in the occurrence of excessive negative emotions, unwanted bodily symptoms and mental distortions. As a result, the client learns to be his own therapist.
